Finger Lakes Instrumentation (FLI), founded in 2000, is an established technology leader in the design and manufacture of cooled, low-noise CMOS and CCD cameras, primarily for astronomy and life science markets. In July of 2018, FLI was acquired by IDEX Health & Science LLC (IH&S), a large life-science company that shifted FLI’s focus to life-science applications only.
On Friday May 3rd 2024, local (Rochester, NY) manufacturing entrepreneurs purchased FLI with the intention of returning to the ethos and trajectory set by the founders. FLI is no longer affiliated with IH&S.
Two of the original founders will be returning to the team: Gregory Terrance will be returning to his role as General Manager, and Bob Kolbet will be returning as Senior Engineer. Additionally, most members of the existing FLI production and engineering teams have remained with the new ownership.
Our initial focus is on you, our customer -- to fully restore our working relationships and ensure that you receive the highest level of service beginning today and into the future.
In the coming months, we will make the necessary investments to continue the innovation and product evolution that has defined FLI as a market leader for decades. Rest assured: all cameras previously sold by FLI will be fully supported.
Thank you for your trust. We look forward to a shared bright future.
